Welcome to your Liberty Shell
Your new Liberty shell provides you access to the following services from planetofnix.com
All accounts come with an email address of shellname@user.planetofnix.com. You have the option of configuring multiple email addresses in the form of username@shellname.user.planetofnix.com. Custom domains can also be configured, but this is how the accounts look internally and how you will configure the accounts in your mail clients.
ponmail.com or similar name will likely be available at some point to shorten email addresses. It will replace the user.planetofnix.com part. When this becomes available, you'll be able to use emailname@shellname.ponmail.com as well as your custom domain to send mail to your accounts.
Also want to provide Webmail and possibly LDAP contacts.
Web Hosting
We provide hosting for static web sites with some limited support for scripts. Most web site design software can upload static pages to the correct area for deployment. Hosting of more complex web sites is available via our Homestead VPS Hosting service. You have two options for hosting:
Public hosting
Your web site will be published to the www.planetofnix.com server. It will be accessible via your custom domain or via https://www.planetofnix.com/user/shellname/ url. www. can safely be omitted.
Private Hosting
Private hosting is accomplished by requiring a login to view the content in the private area. It is still hosted on a public facing web server.
We take no responsibility for protecting your data. There is always a potential risk of a data breach on any server connected to the Internet. Keep this in mind when choosing what type of data to place here. The first step in protecting your data on the Internet is choosing what to even make available on the Internet.
Content Management Systems
The following content management systems are supported.
We will be providing access to some content management tools that help generate a static website for easy updates to the website content. ikiwiki is on the list. Need some sort of photo gallery type system. A simple blogging system and maybe forum would be nice also. Need to do some research on what else is available.
Software Repository Hosting
We provide hosting of software repositories using Git, Got, or CVS. This makes public access available for cloning your repository via the git clone git://git.planetofnix.com/shellname-reponame.git syntax. Write access to the repository will be available via the ssh:// syntax.
XMPP Accounts
We will be providing XMPP accounts for decentralised instant messaging. You have 3 options available for registering your XMPP account. Use one or all 3 as you choose.

IRC Bouncer
Shell accounts are provided with a private znc bouncer. This is only provided for paying users so will have less users and be less likely to be blocked by irc networks then our public free accounts. We have no control over other networks, and make no promises, but are willing to negotiate with them in an attempt to resolve such issues where possible.
Shell Accounts
The main account is provided with a shell, but sub accounts will also be provided their own shell login and home directory under the main account. The accounts will be in the form of shellname-subname. User accounts are limited to 31 chars in openbsd and non-leading hyphens are allowed.
Password Management
I want to provide a password management system for users of some sort. Also tied to key management. I'm sure there is tones out there.
